OUR STORY

In 2014 our founder Kevin Russell was reflecting on Jesus’ statement, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field (Matt 9:37-38).” In response, Kevin prayed “Lord, could you use me to train and send workers into the harvest?” This simple prayer started growing into a God-sized vision.

Two years later, in 2016, while praying Kevin drew a big circle around Indianapolis - a 350 mile radius. He discovered that within a day’s drive there were over 20 major cities, and an estimated 65 million people!

Indianapolis is known as the Crossroads of America because the city's central location serves as a hub for highways that connect to multiple cities throughout this region of the country. Kevin envisioned that Indianapolis could be a hub of ministry, a kind of missions base, that could serve to spread the Gospel in this part of the country. Longing to be part of the solution of too few harvest workers, he wrote two phrases that came to mind: “a house of prayer and training center” and “mini-movements in every segment of society.

Six years later, on July 1, 2022, Kevin officially launched The Crossroads Coalition, a new domestic missions agency based in Fishers, Indiana.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to spread the Gospel-love of Jesus in cities throughout this region of the country.

The Church and The Harvest As a missions agency, we aim to equally serve both Christians and non-Christians, the local church, and the harvest. We will do this primarily through 3 priorities:

  • Corporate Prayer

  • Gospel Training

  • Harvest Teams

CORPORATE PRAYER

Jesus said, “my house shall be called a house of prayer.

In Acts 6:4, we’re told the early church leaders were devoted to praying together. Their devotion to corporate prayer led to the spread of the Gospel (v. 7). We aim to follow their example! A small group, corporate prayer meeting is the heartbeat of our ministry.

GOSPEL
TRAINING

THE 50% PROBLEM Research suggests that 50% of all non-Christians will never hear a Gospel explanation by attending a traditional Sunday morning church service. In our region of the country, that’s almost 20 million non-Christians who need someone to tell them the Good News of Jesus!

Unfortunately, many Christ followers are not actively sharing the Gospel with non-Christians. We believe a lot of Christians would greatly benefit from a training program that would first, give them a more complete explanation of the Gospel, so they can better grasp Jesus’ love personally. And second, a training to give them the tools and confidence to explain the Gospel to non-Christians.

AWAKEN & ENGAGE We have created a Gospel training program called AWAKEN & ENGAGE. The goal of our training is to help Christians grasp and share the Gospel-love of Jesus.

HARVEST TEAMS

As a missions agency, one of our end goals is to form and mobilize small teams of Christians who are called to spread the Gospel within their circle of influence, or within a specific segment of the harvest field.

For example, we are currently praying about forming a Gospel Team to reach military veterans; a Gospel Team to reach a non-Christian religious community; and a Gospel Team to reach firefighters.

In addition to our AWAKEN & ENGAGE Gospel training, we will provide support for these Gospel Teams through prayer, community, and resources.

NETWORK WITH A CENTRAL HUB

As the Gospel spreads, we can envision God bearing the fruit of new disciples, new workers, new AWAKEN & ENGAGE Teams, in new cities throughout this region. We can see God forming a network with a central hub: The Crossroads Coalition.
