PRAYER WALL

DEVOTED TO PRAYER

In Acts 6:4 (NIV), the apostles declared, “we will devote ourselves to prayer and the ministry of the word.” As a result, we’re told just a few verses later in verse 7, “the word of God spread (NIV).”

Praying collectively as a group was central to the early church’s ministry, and vital to the spread of the Gospel. In addition to their example, many great revivals or movements of God throughout church history have prioritized fervent, unceasing corporate prayer. As a coalition, we aim to follow these examples!

We believe corporate prayer, praying together collectively as a group, is the central and primary work that fuels and sustains the spread of the Gospel. So our goal as a coalition, is to be a community of people who will devote ourselves to unceasing prayer, for both the Church, and the Harvest, in this region of the country.

A PRAYER WALL

One of the ways we can pray together is through a prayer wall. A prayer wall is a simple method of organizing a group of people together, so they can pray in a unified manner. A prayer wall uses a calendar and a prayer guide to enable a large number of people to pray together, both as individuals and collectively as a group.

Here are 3 features of our prayer wall:

  • First, let’s pray together all day, every day of the week!

What could we see God do if at least 1 person from our group is praying throughout the day, every day of the week? Let’s devote ourselves to prayer for 18 hours per day, 7 days per week. We can do this by dividing each day into 30-minute time slots or prayer posts. This creates 36 prayer posts per day, or 252 prayer posts per week.

  • Second, each of us can pray for 30 minutes per week.

You can join us by devoting 30 minutes every week to praying with us. You can simply choose one 30-minute time slot or prayer post that fits your schedule. Then sign up to pray weekly during that 30-minute time slot. Our goal is to fill 252 weekly prayer posts!

(If you are willing and able, feel free to sign up for more than one time slot!)

  • Third, let’s all pray the same New Testament prayers together.

We have developed a simple prayer guide for us all to use during our 30-minute prayer post. This prayer guide will help us all pray a few foundational New Testament prayers. We can be confident these prayers align with God’s heart, His will and His plans for our lives, for the Church, and for the Harvset.

AN ARMY IN AGREEMENT

Imagine how powerful and impactful it must be for God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit, to see and hear hundreds of people uniting together in prayer every day, throughout the week, week after week, praying the same Word-centered, Spirit-inspired prayers that align with God’s heart and His will for our families, for His church, and for His harvest, in our cities and in this region of the country! What could we see God do?!

 LET’S PRAY TOGETHER!

STEP 1        Prayerfully reflect on your weekly schedule

Begin with prayer. Tell God you would like to join us and devote 30-minutes a week to praying with us. Ask God to help you choose a time to pray. Reflect on your weekly schedule and routine. Could you devote 30-minutes to prayer one morning a week, or during one lunch, or maybe one afternoon or evening per week?
